FAQ: Handheld Interface (WAP)

What handheld devices can use the Kinnexus handheld interface?

How do I log in to Kinnexus with my WAP-enabled handheld device?

What handheld devices can use the Kinnexus handheld interface?

Generally, any cell phone, Pocket PC, Palm Pilot, or other handheld device which is WAP-enabled -- WAP is for Wireless Application Protocol -- can access the Kinnexus interface. Telescan keeps no list of WAP-enabled devices and makes no guarantee as to the suitability of any device. (But we haven't yet found one that should work, but doesn't.)

Please note: Telescan cannot provide technical support for your cell phone or other handheld devices. You will need to consult your users manual or your device's technical support resources to learn how to browse the World Wide Web, how to enter a URL (Web address), how to select a field or button on the screen, etc.

Note also that the WAP interface is enabled differently on different devices. Identical functions can be accessed in different ways. For example:

  • When logging in to the Kinnexus WAP interface, "Login" may appear as a button on the screen or as a menu item on a menu accessed by a button on the device.
  • You may be able to enter your username and password, for example, directly in the fields on the login screen, or a separate text screen may pop up for data entry.

  • You may be able to enter your username and password, for example, directly in the fields on the login screen, or a separate text screen may pop up for data entry.

Here's how to proceed.

First, enter and go to the appropriate URL. (You'll probably want to save it as a favorite, so you don't have to type it all the time.)

  • Okanagan Mainline [BC] Real Estate Board: mls.omrebmls.com/waplogon.wml#login
  • Warren County [NY] MLS: www.wcarmls.com/waplogon.wml#login
  • Ashland [OH] Board of Realtors: www.ashland.kx20.com/Ashland/waplogon.wml#login
  • Washington County [UT] Board of Realtors: washco.infowest.com/waplogon.wml#login
  • (If yours is missing from the list, have your system administrator e-mail it to support@kinnexus.com.)

Second, login with your Kinnexus username and password. (Neither is case-sensitive.)

Third, choose the search type. (address / mls number / area / listing agent name)

Fourth, enter search criteria. Note that at present the Kinnexus WAP interface allows only active and contingent residential listings to be searched. Also, the price is in round thousands of dollars; do not enter the last three zeroes.

Fifth, if more than one listing is found, select the one you want from the list.

Sixth, view the listing information and photo as desired.
