E-Mail and AutoMail
- Some 3.0 users had difficulty with changes to mail settings disappearing on some machines. 3.2 corrects this.
- On some occasions on some machines, Windows does finish closing a newly-generated PDF attachment in time for that file to be attached to a new mail message that is opening. Kinnexus 3.2 waits longer for the attachment to become available.
- The Mail Attachment Properties dialog now includes a progress bar to show Kinnexus' progress creating a PDF file for attachment to an e-mail message.
- If a PDF file to be created and mailed exceeds 10 pages -- and may therefore be too long to be e-mailed -- a warning now appears, and the user is offered an opportunity to cancel the process.
- In the Mail Attachment Properties wizard, "Format" is renamed "Report," and "Layout" (which was generally unused) is removed.
- Kinnexus 3.2 supports the option to have a copy of each automail message to a contact saved in the Kinnexus user's Sent box.
Searches
- Saved search properties now include the option to exclude a search from the To Do list.
- It is now possible to search for NULL values in a field.
Wizards, Reports, Etc.
- Text fields in data entry wizards now allow multiple lines.
- Office resource sharing is fixed, so reports, list views, configurations, etc., belonging to the office can be made available to users within that office.
- A screen redraw problem in the form editor is fixed.
- The form editor is more stable.
- Wizard branching is fixed.
Miscellany
- Installation, icons, etc., now support Windows Vista.
- Cold starts are now faster in the phase where the server selects resources to be transferred to the client (user's) machine.
- Software updates no longer happen automatically. Instead, a user must download an update from www.kinnexus.com. This change accommodates stricter security in Windows XP and Vista.
- The automatic mapping (geocoding) of listings is faster and more accurate.
- The occasional "KxLib out of memory" error is much rarer.
- A bug in the mechanism which can connect different types of data (associated dataclasses) in a Kinnexus database is fixed, allowing much better handling of such things as open houses.
